Why Spirits & Spirits Don't Mix: A Psychic PSA

I looove my red wine and pizza rolls, but have learned the hard way that spirits (booze) and spirits (dead peeps) don't mix. I'm not always 100% correct in interpreting messages from the Spirit World when I am stone cold sober, but I have found that I am pretty much always straight up wrong with even simple yes/no; either/or predictions after a glass or two of vino. Because of this, I no longer operate my psychic powers under the influence of alcohol or any other mind-altering drug. Period. I consider the advice that follows an important PSA for anyone (psychic or not) who is highly sensitive to other energies or wondering why they always seem to come away with more than just your average hangover after overindulging.

I may be the only person who came of age in the 80's and didn't try cocaine, including my parents (a fun fact that I learned courtesy of my mother's early onset dementia, i.e. lack of filter). I wasn't extremely prudent or wise as a teen (nor in my twenties) but instinctively felt that, given my natural level of spazzy energy, my head might literally pop off if I tried it. Over the years people have mistakenly assumed that I was on coke anyway because of said spazzy energy, so I took Nancy Reagan's advice and Just Said No. I did try other things, like pot and 'shrooms, neither of which would I classify as a positive experience. The one and only time I tried an edible, I left half of it on a low table (as I lay physically and mentally wrecked on the couch) and nearly killed my dog who decided to snack on it. My last and (I promise!) final foray into the research of drugs as metaphysical psychic enhancers was some South American snuff, whose actual name escapes me or I would put it here in bold as a warning. Some people feel that certain drugs, especially those that fall under the umbrella of psychedelics, raise their vibration or bring on mystical experiences. I have found the exact opposite to be true. As someone who spends most of their time dealing with all sorts of energies, I can tell you that alcohol and drugs almost always attract the wrong kind of energy from both sides of the veil.

I'm not saying that you have to give up your glass of wine with dinner, or bottle of beer after a long day, but any time you get completely sh*tfaced, you lower your vibration and invite what I call "the crust" into your energy field. Simply put, you leave yourself open to psychic attack from bottom dwellers in the Spirit World who get their rocks off by influencing and/or living vicariously through your drunk or high ass self. It may be hard to wrap your head around the fact that, in addition to keeping yourself safe from "bad guys" that you can see (and actively avoid) on the earthly plane, so should you do your best to steer clear of the energy vampires lurking in other planes of existence. I'm guessing that you wouldn't willingly hang out with the local crackheads in the "real" world, so why open yourself up to the ones you can't see? As one who has seen them, I promise they are not the kind of people you would bring home to meet mom.

The psychic world (that realm from which I get the information shared during a reading) is basically another internet and can be tricky to navigate under the best of circumstances. Scammers and frauds from this other world wide web are just as nefarious as the ones you've seen on the MTV show Catfish. If you are reading this and actively trying to develop your own psychic abilities, you're welcome! Trust me, one day you will be thanking me... and so might your dog.
